Continuing to work on wait times. Currently in the process of revamping the phone scripts. Please follow the script if you are making appointments. We need to find out what’s wrong with it.

Crosslinking – Now FDA approved to be done with the epithelium on.

Lasik numbers are down across the country. Offer Lasik evaluations at the front desk and as you are working up a patient. If you notice a patient has droppy lids, tell them about Bleph.

Make sure you are coming to work on time and on time for the morning huddles. We can’t be on time if we start late.

OSHA meeting will be next month.

Bathrooms – Please check the bathroom before you exit. Make sure it is clean. Do not overuse the air freshener. It can make the floor slippery.

Kaitlyn and Karen help with DDS Forms. The forms cannot be faxed directly to the DDS. Karen to contact patient after Kaitlyn completes form.

If you see a lightbulb out, please let Hallie know. If we do not have correct bulbs, Lorena can order.

Nametags are part of the uniform. If you have a white jacket, that is your uniform. Make sure they are on.

If you have an IT issue that is urgent please tell Maddie, Lorena, or myself. For non-urgent IT concerns, please write it on the IT notepad in the back office. If something is not working, please don’t assume someone has already told us. Let me know.

Our phone vendor was hacked a few weeks ago. Our information was not compromised. Please be cautious as you click weird or unfamiliar screens on the computers.

Dr. O’Shea – Techs, please make sure to save cataract measurements in the correct format. Watch correct name.

Mandy – Will work with Beth on scripts to introduce Lasik to patients who are within parameters. Crosslinking is going well – still navigating insurance

Cataracts –Dr. Huynh is picking up. If you would like to make a donation to the Buck family, there is a GoFundMe.

Daelyn – If you are unsure of your results for taped/untaped, please call me to double check. Bleph referrals need t be sent to DES or Daelyn Stone. Please use LTD for bleph evaluations and CAT EVAL for cataract evaluations on the CON schedule.

Optical – Getting busier! Thanks to everyone walking patients over. If someone is needing a glasses recheck, please schedule with optical and add into the doctor’s daily note.

Dr. Carlin – Welcome Heather (tech)! As you know, we are still looking for technicians. If you refer an employee and they complete their 90 days, you will earn 8 hours of PTO.  

This practice started in 1977. Our 50 year anniversary is coming up and as it approaches, I want to thank everyone for helping with the CarlinVision experience and the level of service we all provide.  

Technicians – Physicians agreed that patients can be dilated prior to testing.  

All glasses prescriptions will now be printed in Optical. This will give the opticians an opportunity to discuss patients’ benefits and glasses.  

We’ve made our first pair of Stellest glasses. These glasses are designed to slow the progression of myopia. 

New interocular lens available – Pursee. Provides patients with distance and intermediate vision.

Crosslinking is changing. Currently performing procedure by scraping the epithelium, which takes about 1 hour. It is now FDA approved to perform procedure with the epithelium onaw. The new method would take about 20 minutes.  

If you are using a bandage contact lens for crosslinking, please fill out the sign out sheet so we can track the use.  

Cataracts – Please perform 016’s IOL master under 04 for now.  

Daelyn – Keep sending me referrals. If a patients wants a call back same day or next day, send me a todo to DES. 

Betty – Please send patients to optical. Kim and Corinne will be on the floor ready to sign patients in. If you notice a patient has vision insurance, let them know we can check their benefits. There are also inexpensive packages for those patients with Medicaid or Medicare. Two specials happening – BOGO 40% off and $50 off any sunglasses next week!  

Contacts –  If you are dropping off a chart on the desk, place it in between both desks.  

Retina/Valeda – Very busy! Thank you for all the GroupMe message letting me know patients are waiting.  

Dry Eye- Keep using supplies in pairs.  

Amy –  Approaching open enrollment for 401k. If you are joining or need to make a change, please come see me for a form. Form due by July 24^th. 

Marketing- Running a contest for techs and front. Optical post cards are at every pod/station. Sign your initial, give to patient, and tell them to bring to optical to claim their $50 off. Person with most post cards wins a prize. Acai bowls coming July 21st from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
