March Meeting Notes

Dr. Richard Carlin – Welcome Corinne and Madison. Welcome back Vanessa.

Please schedule patients appropriately – routine or medical.

We have one of the most comprehensive practices in Atlanta area and want to educate patients about what we do. Front desk will give patients a sheet regarding lasik and bleph.

Routing sheets are changing. Please familiarize yourself with the sheet before next Monday.

Payouts – Dr. RC Lasik – Elaine, Brandi, Stacy, Mirnesa, Michaela Bleph – Ashleigh G, Olivia D, Bree, Michaela

Zero toleriance for any and all discrimination. Please tell Amy if you witness or experience any discrimination.

Lasik – Medical history forms have been highlighted for the Lasik eval questions. If you see this, ask the patient! It counts as a referral. Lasik candidates are between 18 and 65 years old. Bring the patient to us or we can go to the pod. Cost of Lasik is now $2100 per eye. That is $1000 less than before.

Betty – No special currently. Bring patients over to Optical so we can look up their benefits. Many people aren’t aware they can get glasses for free or very little out of pocket.

Cataracts – Temporarily only Holly and Destiny. Please use initials in the chart. Let us know how we can help and thank you to those who’ve offered to help since Daelyn has moved departments.

Retina – Thank you to everyone who refers to helps with testing. Megan (ext. 307) is part of Retina and is answering all to-dos and calling patients.

Daelyn – Getting adjusted to the Oculoplastics world. Please send all to-dos to BER and add a referral for bleph evals. A lot of missed opportunity in February to make some extra money.

Contacts – MySight is being introduced soon for patients with myopia. It will slow down the progression. Dr. Thornhill can fit patients. Contact benefits can be used towards Mysight contacts purchase.

Maddie – I will have more details for events for you next month. If you have any ideas, I am always welcoming them. We have a lot of new marketing going out for all the departments – easy ways you can help us are liking and engaging with the posts or letting me know when areas are in need of post cards. If you are interested in being a part of a reel(s) I am always looking for people.

Amy – Our clearing house for insurance payments has experienced a cyberattack. Payments are behind, but they are coming in. Please be cautious when clicking on emails and other links on the computer.

I will be out part of April. If you call out to me currently, you will be calling out to Lorena during that time. Any PTO forms from Aptil 10th to April 29th will go to your supervisor.

February Meeting Notes

Office Meeting Notes

Dr. Richard Carlin

When dealing with upset patients, just listen and show empathy. If the problem continues, please get Amy or a physician.

Routine vs. Medical – “Routine” visits can be described as vision screenings. These are for people with no medical concerns or complications. Will go over more in training.

We can see children of all ages – but no premature newborn cases. Do not schedule children under 5 with Dr. Thornhill or Dr. Willman.

There is an attendance issue. The office runs smoother when all staff is present. PTO is for personal or sick time. Plan accordingly. Be ready to work in your station at your start time, not walking through the door or grabbing coffee. If you need to revisit the PTO policy, employee manual can be found in Amy’s office or on the Intranet.

MIPS is changing again. Expect to see a new routing sheet in the future.

Contact lens fit room is only for Brandi and Stacy to use. Do not use for other reasons (phone calls, other patients, etc..)

Payouts – Dr. RC (Lasik) Camila, Ashley, Brianna, Bethani, Stacy, Brandi, Elaine (Bleph) Hallie, Ashley, Lauren, Kellen

Dr.DC – Camila, Courtney, Brittany

Dr.Tyler – Michaela, Olivia M., Karen, Holli, Millie

Starting this pay period, everyone is receiving a 3.2% pay increase. Reviews to follow in the next few months.

Cells phone should not be used in front of patients. If problem continues, cell phones will be placed in lockers during the work day.

Amy – Price Increases – Refraction is now $58 and lipiflow is $445.

If you have over 80 hours PTO, go ahead and put in a PTO form. Only 80 hours can be rolled over.

We would like to do trainings on different topics this year. Dave Feroletto will host training and answer questions regarding John Hancock/401k.

Patients have the option to fill out surveys after their visit. If patients bring in CVSC surveys, please place in the box in back office.

Lasik – Cost of Lasik has decreased. At this time, there will not be any specials. Karen, Brandi/Staci, Bree, Elaine, Camila, Michaela, and Bethani all receive prizes for the referral contest.

Dry Eye – Schedule evaluations and lipiflows early in the day.

Betty – Suggest patients to look at frames while they wait for appointments
