Office Notes September 2021

Dr. C:  Finishing OSHA meeting first regarding blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.

Welcome Courtney (tech), Nadia (concierge), and Daelyn (front office).

Dr. O’Shea started beginning of Sept. and Dr. Floyd starting 27th. Still need more staff.

COVID increasing again – Delta variant – younger people – vaccines help and could be mandatory in medical facilities and large companies.

Last quarter of year and our opportunity to shine/make a difference.

Large number of patients want to get in before end of year. Make every effort to accommodate them. Postpone non urgent appointments until January to leave slots open.

If you are interested in some extra cash and would like to work an extra hour or so a week, sign up in the breakroom.

If patient calls for a complaint not involving vision – red eye, lump, floaters, etc. – but also wants an exam – schedule problem in limited spot and put off exam until a later time.

Front desk – if patient is wearing glasses ask them if they want to get new ones and have them look in Optical why they for appointment.

If you are on list for bathroom/kitchen duties please do your duties.

Contact lens fits – Brandi and Stacey doing good job telling patients about fee. Check out collect fee for fit. Patients are quoted the price.

Oculo:  Buy 1 get 1 lid ½ off Sept/Oct. Special doing great – best one so far.

Surgery:   Holli says thanks to Millie for helping out.

Retina:  We are in a transition period with Angel leaving.

Office Notes August 2021

Dr. C:  Dr. DeRosa would like to say something. Over the next month he will stop seeing patients. It’s been an honor and privilege working with the doctors and all of you.

Welcome Angelina and Marissa (front desk), and Lorrie Ann (concierge).

Still need more staff. If you know of anyone let Amy know.

2 new docs starting next month. Dr. Casey O’Shea beginning of Sept. and Dr. Matthew Floyd end of Sept.

COVID – Delta variant increasing. New variant Lambda coming. Back to COVID protocol with 1 patient allowed in a room unless help is needed for disabled, elderly or pediatric. All patients and staff need to wear mask that covers nose. If you see patient not complying let them know it’s mandatory.

Bathroom/kitchen duties. Keep bathrooms and kitchen orderly and clean. Toilet paper and paper towels in their holders. Do your specified duties and all watch even if you are not assigned.

Office philosophy – advanced eye care with a home-town touch. Patients are our reason for being. Practice needs a reason to make them come here. Provide service no one else can.

Contacts, surgical counselors – see if you are needed anywhere before you leave for the day.

Optical consultant will have a report for us soon.

OSHA – rest will be in Sept. meeting.

Amy:  Emailing Rx – do not use back copier for this. Only use secured email sources, contacts and optical.

Faxing – use fax cover sheet with your name. They are in the drawer to right of copier.

Angel leaving end of Sept. Haley, Brynna and Daisy will work with retina. Send ToDos to RTA.

Lasik:  Booked thru August. Up to $1000 off special thru August. Diana back on 17th.

Retina:  Send referrals to Haley, Brynna and Daisy.

Oculo:  Visual fields – 3 blocks (levels) down for insurance to approve.

Contacts:  Pink sticky notes have only 1 box checked.

Dry Eye:  Reach out to Heather for LipiFlow treatment.

Pre-cert:   BAT and vision needs to be worse than 20/50, all Aetna pre-cert for cataract surgery.
