Office Notes February 2022

Dr. DC:  Welcome new techs Hallie, Kaitlyn, Bethani, Shaunna and front desk Lauren & Ester. Great to have you all working here.

Thanks to all for working hard, hopefully things will be calming down.

Special shout out to all those who helped out in the education sessions. Thanks to Bethany for back office and Amy for front office. Back to basics.

Cataracts, techs, checkout – for cataract surgery there are 2 charges for IOL master – OCB technical component for both eyes (2nd eye is getting missed) & OCB professional (doc) evaluating for type of implant. Make sure they are circled.

Amy:  Remind everyone we are still looking for staff to hire.

Reviews this month, appreciate your self-evaluations. Effective on this next paycheck along with hazard pay. Make sure to check and let Amy or Lorena know if not.

PTO over 80 hours after March 31st expires. Request time off if needed.

Alex:  revamping suggestion box in breakroom. Can leave anonymous comment/suggestion if you want. Also trying an Employee spotlight of the month. Nominations via the office.

Dr. Floyd:  excited about new techs learning.

Lasik:  Mar/Apr/May special with QR code tracking. Discount not yet determined.

Cataract:  Reiterated about 2nd OCB mentioned above.

Oculoplastics:  Mar/Apr/May special $250 off per lid w QR code tracking.

Optical:  head of last February in sales.

Dry Eye:  Send referrals our way for dry eye, LipiFlow (use LIP), etc.

Office Notes January 2022

Dr. C:  Welcome Alexus (technician). Congrats to Ashleigh, Kellen & Hallie certified on the Zeimer Z4.

Review of 2021 – good solid year. Back to where we were in 2019. 2020 was weak. Optical á 20%, Cataract á 22%, Lasik had most since 2003! Saw 46,897 patients á 6,000 from last year. A huge thank you to everyone.

Hardship pay of $300 will be distributed 1st of February.

Focus on quality this year. Better service to patients in all departments. Want to make us a stellar practice, including training. Open at 7:45 two Tuesdays at month. Start patients at 8:30.

Reviewed staff needs – working at 70% capacity now. Need to get staff to full levels. Bonus to refer someone now $325. Looking for phone receptionists, front desk, techs, back office. Offering competitive jobs, salaries, etc.

Looking forward to an interesting year with good changes.

Wonderful to see Nancy back in the office.

Calling in – techs call Millie between 7:00 and 7:30, then call office. Optical their managers. Rest call Amy.

New Indirect in Pod 2 Rm 4. Leave buttons on during the day.

Skype is not protected, use patient acct#, not name when discussing a patient.

Fun News!  On Tues., Feb. 22nd Tex’s Taco truck will be here. Always a treat!

Monday payroll – Amy out so get your timesheet to her on Thursday. Clock in/out Friday as normal.

Read a positive letter from a patient saying good things about our practice.

Cataracts:  When scheduling evals, after DOC schedule put in CON schedule also. We miss you Jessica!

Lasik:  Employee referral contest in March. Let us know your thoughts on prizes.

Oculoplastics:  Glad to be back. Karen, Bree & Michaela had top referrals last year.

Retina:  Keep sending referrals.

Katie (insurance):  Statements with hold dates are not going out to patients. Let us know why.

Dry Eye:  Thanks for referrals. Remember to tell patients no drops 2 hours before evaluation appointment.

Karen:  DO NOT throw away soap dispensers in employee bathrooms. Please refill them. Refill container in her office.
