Office Notes – August 2016

Dr. Richard Carlin:

Good Morning, Welcome Back!

Carol’s Husband (Tom) has been diagnosed with Melanoma that has invaded his orbit and is inoperable. Unfortunately the prognosis is not good, maybe months to live.

We are living in times that are very mean. Nowadays politically correctness is derogatory. We are in a time were people think minorities are evil. We will have a horrible future if we go down that road. We are to leave all outside negativity away from here. This is a plea for kindness.

Announcements:

Mandy is now doing the schedule for the techs.

Techs- put in PTO request with Amy. Sometimes Mandy is not available.

If a patient comes in and has problems with glasses, the glasses need to be checked by an optician, if they cannot be fixed by opticians they need to make an appointment for a glasses check.

The Academy is in October. Certified techs can attend. CarlinVision will cove air fare, hotel and classes. The meals will be up to you.

We received a very nice review from a Dr. Thornhill patient.

Payouts: see list

When we are seeing a patient for second eye cataract surgery, it needs to be stated that they are having trouble with vision in the complaint and that it was not relieved by first eye surgery. Wellcare Medicare needs acuity of 20/40.

Amy:

2 things: Van from AFLAC is coming August 17. If you need to make any chances or add anything make sure you see him.

Office Notes – June 2016

Dr. R. Carlin

It’s Vacation Time! No meeting in July.

We tend to slow down a bit but still need to treat patients with the best possible care. Saturday included.

Been some robberies in the area – Dollar Tree/Verizon. If it happens here, give them what they want. Don’t try to be a hero, be safe.

Certified technicians are invited to the Academy meeting in Chicago this year. Will provide airfare, hotel and class costs. If you are interested in attending let Amy know.

Congratulations to Brandi who is now NCLE certified.

For medical necessary Bleph/Ptosis note MRD on chart (marginal reflex distance); for cataract 20/50 or worse, if less do a BAT.

Meaningful use – new payment system starting this year. Medical records transferred electronically – use cataract post op 99024 code so registry can pick it up.

Patients say practice is pretty cool. Bacitracin rep was impressed.

When we do get complaints we listen and address the problem. Also gives us opportunity to do better. Laura – get Amy, doctor or whoever to address complaint appropriately.

Drs. DC, BS & T: no comment.

Dr. D: out of office. Read More
