Office Notes August 2019

Dr. C:
Good Morning! Welcome Cameron (front office), Emily, Daisy and Abigail (technicians).

A retina physician will be joining the practice starting after Labor Day – Dr. Dimple Modi. She will be seeing macular degeneration and diabetic patients. She will treat retinal holes and tears but no surgery.

Megan Haynes is moving the cataract department as a surgical counselor effective Monday the 19th. Millie will handle scheduling and ordering supplies. Lottie will do equipment maintenance and supplies. Sam will help with training. Handling reps is to be determined. This is a temporary fix for now.

Bethany is moving to the back office as a technician.

If you see a patient and suspect any abuse – let a doctor know.

Explain referrals for new employees – $50 for Lasik, $40 for Bleph

Amy:
Van, with Aflac, will be out on the 20th. Sign up sheet in breakroom. You can enroll or make changes.

There is an increase in not signing in or out on time clock and writing time in. If you miss 4 or more, see Amy.

Scott killed a large spider at front desk!

When calling in: Techs call Millie, optical calls optical, everyone else calls Amy then office.

1st day of school pics – send to John for social post.

New staff – wear your name tags. See Amy if you don’t have one.

Techs – if your pants are too long please get them hemmed.

Tech study session scheduled for Aug. 28th. Please sign up by the 25th.

Physicians sharing pods – balance rooms between pods.

Creating a venue (kudos) for staff and patients to thank and encourage others. Email will be patients.

Dr. BS:
Dry Eye department continues to grow. Thank you to Jessica for doing a great job while Allie is out. Discuss dry eye symptoms with patients and leave open for questions.

Lasik:
Diana – if a patient does not want to talk with Lasik right then, please put it in the To Dos so you can still get the referral.

If you see a patient holding eyelids up, comment on options we have for that. Will be marketing Medical bleph.

Office Notes July 2019

Dr. C:  Morning! We are hiring for front office, technicians and cataract surgical counselor.

Welcome to new staff – Erin, Michaela and Elle (technicians); Sara and Natalie (front office)

Welcome back Sam (technician).

We are not a typical practice – unique and totally patient focused. When meeting patients, introduce yourself.

Discontinuing Cosmetic Botox and will stop promoting. Will still do medical.

DO NOT clock in and out from your phone. Must use PCs in the office. They are being monitored.

Let patients know about Lasik and Bleph. Give them folders.

Read letter from contact lens patient about Stacy and Brandi helping them and being courteous.

Demo’d 3 OCTs. Zeiss was selected. Should be delivered today. Visual field upgrade next.

New rotunda furniture arriving Monday.

Dr. BS:  Allie is out on maternity leave. Jessica is filling in. Will visit outside practices to increase volume and schedule a lunch ‘n learn to educate new technicians.

Chelsie:  If no one is in testing please run your own.

Megan M:  If cosmetic or no insurance Bleph patient do not run visual field. Front desk add Bleph eval on routing sheet.

Marketing:  Techs remember ext. 226 and 288 and call when patient wants Lasik eval. Same goes for Bleph eval – ext. 224.

Lasik: Front desk check for expired driver’s license. Cannot run CareCredit when expired.

Bethany:  Use your initials (not docs) when scheduling surgery.

Avril:  Techs bring patients to see her for glasses Rx.
